I seriously considered titling this “How I became the most put together hot girl” but you’re lucky I refrained.
All over my tik tok have been influencers discussing their “maintenance routines” or personal care items to maintain their put together look. Some of these people have some COMPREHENSIVE lists and they weren’t really attainable? I personally cant afford doing a 56 step list, I would have to quit my day job.
I am a LAZY GIRL. I want to look as good as possible without trying too hard.
The concept of the maintenance routine popped my head around 2 years ago – when I found myself wanting to look put together while doing the least amount of things as possible.
I want to wake up and practically not have to think.
I would say that creating a maintenance routine is possible the most Almost Pretty Good test that there is. It encompasses making myself skilled at something and mastering my own technique.
So lets get into what helped me! (If you don’t want to read here is my tik tok summary but if you want links/persuasion please read ahead!
Daily
My day to day – nothing here is crazy or will change your life.
- Skincare
- I created a skincare routine that was as easy as possible. Notably I added in an exfoliant to have fresh looking skin and a sunscreen in the morning!
- Moisturize whole body (Morn & Night)
- Hydrated skin = pretty skin
- Caster Oil eyebrows (Morn & Night)
- A REALLY cheap way to get thicker eyebrows that you don’t have to dye. I have loved the way this has made my brows look. Plus when it dries my eyebrows STICK in place aka waking up with finished brows
- Hair serum
- For fuller, thicker hair I put in the Ordinary Hair Serum every night. Its nothing I need to massage or think about other than squeezing the dropper. #lazygirlapproved.
Weekly
- Sunday reset
- I get as squeaky clean as possible. Shave, cleanse, scrub, pluck, whatever. This creates a great starting point letting me know what I may need to focus on during my week.
Monthly
This part of my routine has yielded the most dramatic results. Ever since adding these monthly elements I have felt, looked, and been told that I have my sh*t together.
- BIAB Manicures ($70-130)
- Admittedly I am a nail biter, gel nail ripper. Since getting BIAB manicures my nails have been able to grow… LONG. I don’t know what’s in BIAB but to me its magic. They are a harder, longer lasting gel manicure that doesn’t ruin my nails underneath.
- The set usually lasts me 4-6 weeks and doesnt chip which makes me have that “Clean, put together” look.
- Eyebrow Lamination ($130)
- Getting my eyebrows done has been a life changing experience. I wake up and I look like I tried. There is no better way to explain it. I can have a birds nest on my head, grungy ripped up pj’s, and pimple patches on, but my eyebrows looking on fleek??? IDK HOW TO EXPLAIN?
- It is pricy and you have to do it every 4 weeks but I promise you should try it at least once and see if you fall in love as well.
Seasonal
- Facial
- Summer – Restorative
- Winter – Hydrating
- let the professionals fix your face. They will reset your base, allowing product and routines to work better.
- Massage
- Whenever you cant shake a vibe or ache go to the professionals!
- Wax
- In the beginning of the summer, before your first pool day. Get it waxed friends. I am not going to get into it but it sets the season up RIGHT.
- Balayage
- Every 4/6 months I get a balayage, it is the easiest hair style. It keeps me looking rich.
Random One Time Purchases
Here are some items I always recommend / get the most complements on. I wanted to include these because I would count these as maintenance because it keeps up the “maintained” look.
- Non-tarnishing jewelry
- Wear it in the shower, sleep in it and your ears/hands/neck are dressed 24/7
- I love Mejuri ❤ I have the huggie earrings

- Capsule wardrobe
- Think less and look good all the time. I am not saying get rid of your funky tops and dresses but if you have a good set of basics to pull from it allows your brain to shut the heck off.
- Find a scent
- My 25 year old goal was to find a scent. Something I could throw on whenever. If you want something so subtle to take your vibe from 90 to 100 its a good scent. Even on my worst days putting on a perfume makes me seem like I got it going on.
